Halloween decor Dollar Store haul
Halloween apparently comes very early at the Dollar Store in the Pacific Northwest (are all Dollar Stores the same - or does this vary by region?). I picked up these items in early August and had to stash them away until it was socially appropriate for me to take them out. I was somewhat restrained in what I purchased, as there was much more in stock than what I ultimately took home, but the quality of these items is impressive (thus far) considering the price - so I might have to go back to see if they've gotten any new goodies since my last visit.
To walk you through the items:
Glitter pumpkin bows my son wants to use as decorations, but I’m not quite sure how yet.
A thin wooden (think: balsa wood) cutout haunted house. This has a base that allows it to stand on its own. After taking this picture my son painted it purple and black and began a kid-created Halloween decoration station on our sideboard.
Glitter leaves with clips on the back that are another decoration option - I could see these placed on the entryway table somewhere or as part of a table-scape for Thanksgiving.
A fold-able Halloween lantern that lights up thanks to the included battery-powered tea light.
A cute metal ghost that hangs with a piece of twine. I envision this hanging from our mounted coat rack.
A thin wooden coffin-shaped cutout with the words “Trick or Treat.”
Similarly, a thin wooden skeleton cutout with bendable joints.
Letting the kids paint the wooden items is what I originally had planned, but they’re so cute they almost don’t require painting. We’ll see where they all end up soon!
